When Muscogee County School District
Schools are CLOSED due to inclement weather or any other
circumstances that warrant closing, employees should not report to
work. Unsafe driving or facility conditions make attempts to report
to work inappropriate and unadvisable. With the exception of certain
individuals specifically contacted by their supervisor and directed
to report to perform emergency repairs and/or other duties, all
other District employees should not report to work. Employees will
receive full pay for days that Muscogee County School District is
closed due to inclement weather or any other circumstances that
warrant closing.
When Muscogee County
School District has a DELAYED OPENING due to inclement
weather or any other circumstances that warrant closing,
the District will provide Principals, Department Heads,
and local media outlets information regarding when
employees should report to work.
- Employees who report
to work by the delayed opening time will receive
full pay for that day.
- Employees who are
unable to get to work, or who arrive late to work,
will be given the opportunity to make up the work
time missed. The District will provide Principals
and Department Heads information on how to handle
make-up work for any work days or hours missed.
- Employees will only
be allowed to make-up missed time in the current
workweek.
- If an employee
misses a day of work or reports to work late and is
unable to make up the time missed within the current
week he/she must use personal leave, vacation day(s)
or be payroll deducted for the time missed.
When Muscogee County
School District Schools have an
EARLY CLOSING due to
inclement weather or any other circumstances that
warrant closing, employees will be directed to leave
work and will be paid for the un-worked time when the
weather forces an early closing. School staff will be
released with the principal’s approval upon dismissal of
all the children. However, if the District remains open
and employees are permitted to leave early at their
option due to weather conditions or any other
circumstances that warrant closing, make-up provisions
of paragraphs 2 and 4 above apply.
When it is announced that
local school staff should report, the following
employees should report by the time designated by the
public announcement:
- Certified Staff
(Teachers, Media Specialist, Counselors, Principals
and Assistant Principals)
- Para-professionals
- Clerical Staff
