TITLE I GRAND SLAM
The Title I Department will host the 13th annual “Grand Slam,” an
educational activity that is open to families in the school district.
The Grand Slam will be held at Dimon Magnet Academy Saturday, March 29,
from 10:00 am to1:00 pm. Family registration will begin at 9:15 am, and
the opening ceremonies begin at 9:45 am. Parents or guardians must
accompany students at ALL times during the event.
The Grand Slam serves two purposes:
- It demonstrates to parents and children that learning together
can be exciting.
- It encourages parents to become partners in their children’s
education.
Participants will be engaging in activities on the key
Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) areas of reading and math.
Parents and children will attend a variety of workshop sessions. This
year’s “event will feature Kibby Taylor, Director of Family Counseling
of Columbus, as the keynote speaker.
Families will have the opportunity to
- Participate in fun, family-focused learning activities.
- Register for door prizes such as gift cards to various
businesses. (Must be present to win.)
- Enjoy refreshments.
