STATE NATIONAL HISTORY DAY WINNER

Julia Cape of Midland Middle, was the first-place winner in her category
at the State National History Day Competition at the University of Maryland.
Her category was Individual performance and her topic was Amelia Earhart. At
the awards ceremony, Julia was presented with the award for outstanding
middle school entry. She was also recently recognized for her
accomplishments by the State School Board. Sue Funk, gifted facilitator at
Midland Middle, accompanied Julia to the competition.
At the March Board meeting, Julia, along with Sue Funk and Principal
Richard Green, were presented to the Board.
