COLUMBUS HIGH STUDENT
WINS STATE SWIMMING AWARDS

Jessica Graber of Columbus High tied for second place in the 50-yard freestyle at the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Swimming Championships held at Westminster Schools in Atlanta on February 9. The second-place finish was the highest finish for any high school swimmer--male or female--from Columbus in more than 20 years  Her time of 24.38 was a Columbus High team record. She placed fifth in her other event, the 100-yard freestyle, with a time of 53.72 seconds

During the April Board meeting, Jessica, her coaches Kazue Schmitz and Paul Heuton, and her assistant principal, Dr. Marvin Crumbs, were recognized by the Board.
