Columbus High Cross Country State Winner

Columbus High sophomore Charlie Sparks won his second straight individual
Cross Country State Championship Title on November 3 in Carrollton, by
running the best time on the five-kilometer course of any of the
classifications. He completed the course in 15 minutes, 46 seconds, to win
the class AAA State Title. He ran the fastest time of the day regardless of
any of the classifications (A, AA, AAA, AAAA, and AAAAA). Charlie is coached
by Head Coach Randy Whitt and Assistant Coach Lynda Korcha (right).
During the January Board meeting, Charlie, his coaches, and Principal Susan
Bryant (left) were recognized by the Board.
