Columbus High Cheerleaders State Runner-Up
The Columbus High Varsity Competitive Cheerleaders finished second in the
state with 261 points, one point behind Central of Carrolton. This is the
third time in four years that the school's cheerleaders earned the State
Runner-Up Title. The Georgia High School Association State Cheerleading
Championships were held Saturday, November 10, at the Columbus Civic Center.
The Columbus High cheerleaders completed their season with five first-place
honors and the Grand Champion Trophy, performing the highest level of
difficulty in stunts, pyramids, and tumbling.
During the January Board meeting, the team and coach were recognized by
the Board.
The CHS Cheerleaders are coached by Merrimoore McDonald.
