CARVER WINS GEORGIA AAA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Carver Tigers claimed their first state championship Saturday,
December 15, 2007, as they defeated the Cairo Syrupmakers by a final score
of 16-13. Thousands of fans witnessed the Tigers storm the home field at
Cairo.
The Carver Tigers completed their regular season with a 10-0 record, a
first-place finish in Region 2-AAA, and the opportunity to host two playoff
games. Carver traveled to Carrollton and defeated the 6-AAA Region Champion
by the score of 14-7; this victory preserved a spot in the dome for the
second consecutive year to face the Chamblee Bulldogs. They defeated
Chamblee 26-24 to advance to the AAA State Title Game.
Their season came to an historical end with a record of 15-0 and a State
Championship after defeating the Cairo Syrupmakers 16-13 in Cairo on
Saturday, December 15, 2007.
