2008 State Agriculture
Art Competition Winner

Leon Vasser, a seventh-grader at Baker, was honored by Governor Sonny Perdue
at the State Capital on March 13 for winning second place in the State
Agriculture Art Contest. The title of his art work was “Farmer and Boy.”
Leon received $100 in cash, a medal, and a certificate. The winners were
photographed individually as they received their honors and their pictures
will remain in the offices at the State Capital in the Agricultural
Building. Leon was accompanied by his art teacher, Janet O’Neill. Dr. Mary
Avery is his principal.
During the April Board meeting, Leon, his teacher, and his principal were
recognized by the Board.
