DR. JIM ARNOLD
OF SHAW NAMED
GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL DISTINGUISHED PRINCIPAL

The Georgia Association of Secondary
School Principals (GASSP) recently named Dr. Jim Arnold of Shaw as
one of the 2008 Georgia High School Distinguished Principals. During the
April Board meeting, Dr. Arnold received his award from Tracie Fleming,
President-Elect of GASSP..
The Distinguish Principal recognition is presented annually by the
Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals based on statewide
nominations of outstanding secondary leaders. The Distinguished Principal
program identifies high school principals that excel in a variety of
professional skills including educational leadership, resolving complex
problems, developing self and others, and service to their school community.
The Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals is strongly
committed to supporting the visions of quality school leaders, the
implementation of which significantly impacts students, school, and
community. By focusing on the exemplary work that high performing principals
do across the state, GASSP seeks to encourage a higher level of
accomplishment for all principals. The individuals recognized by GASSP today
are role models for principals at all levels.
