Youth Advisory Council Announced by Deputy City Manager Lisa Goodwin
During the October Board meeting, the members of the Youth Advisory Council were introduced to the Board by Lisa Goodwin, Deputy City Manager. The Youth Advisory Council is a partnership between the City of Columbus and the Muscogee County School District. The purpose of this partnership is to actively involve youth on policy issues affecting them and broaden the scope of youth leadership in City Government and MCSD affairs. This partnership promotes experimental learning about the functions of City Government and the school district.  Another goal is to promote public awareness of the strengths and abilities of youth by actively involving our young people in planning, developing, and implementing social, cultural, and recreational activities that are free of drugs and alcohol.
