State Wrestling Awards

In February the State Traditional Wrestling Competition was held at the Gwinnett Arena in Atlanta. Five students received awards. Several of these students, along with their coaches and administrators, were presented to the Board during the April meeting.

First Place: Dorian Henderson (54-0) Columbus High
Dorian is a third-time state champion.  He placed fourth in Nationals in March and was named All-American Wrestler. He was also named the top wrestler in Georgia and will receive an all-expenses-paid week at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Third Place: Joe Denova (45-8) Columbus High
Jon Francis (31-7) Columbus High
Trevione Hudson (55-4) Hardaway High
Juan Pickett (30-4) Shaw High
