SHAW MEDIA SPECIALIST RECEIVES LIBRA AWARD

Sonya Boyd, media specialist at Shaw, received the Libra Award from the Columbus Area Library Association on April 19. This award, given annually, recognizes contributions to libraries and literacy. She was nominated by Nancy Grantham, liaison with Mediacom of Columbus, one of Shaw's Partners in Education.  Pat Chitwood of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer presented Sonya with a certificate and a gift card to Barnes and Noble.

The Columbus Area Library Association is composed of librarians and others who love libraries of all sorts (academic, medical, legal, etc.). Past recipients of the Libra include Mary Lisby, Edgar Lester, and Owen Ditchfield, all school library media specialists; however, other recipients include volunteers and people who are not librarians.
