Dr. Christine Daley was named Psychologist of
the Year by the Georgia Association of School Psychologists. During the
March Board meeting, she was presented to the Board by Chief Student Affairs
Officer Eddie Obleton.
Dr. Daley has been
employed by MCSD over nine years and was a co-initiator of the High School
Depression Screening Program. As a result of her efforts, she was asked to
serve on the program’s national advisory board (The Sign of Suicide High
School Advisory Board) and has been instrumental in state and national
recognition for the quality of MCSD's program implementation. Based on this
work, she was co-recipient of a 2001 Innovative Practice Award presented by
the Georgia Association of School Psychologists. She has served as the
district’s community liaison to juvenile court and the recording secretary
for the community’s multi-disciplinary child abuse review team. She is also
a member of the Valley Collaborative for Suicide Prevention.
At the state and federal level, Chris serves as
Georgia’s Health Care Coordinator for the National Association of School
Psychologists and is a trained member of the Georgia Crisis Assistance Teams
for Schools. She served as president of GASP from 2003-2004 and was the
association’s Research Committee chairperson from 1999-2003. She also served
a three-year term as a member of the Professional Standards Committee and
continues to work actively on important professional issues such as school
vouchers, personnel shortages, professional ethics, and salary incentives
for national certification.
