Retirees for 2006-07 were honored at a banquet May 10 at the Columbus
Convention and Trade Center. Speakers and presenters were Dr. Robin
Pennock, Deputy Superintendent; James Walker, Chair, Muscogee County Board
of Education; Don Cooper, Chief Human Resources Officer; Eugene Craig,
President, Muscogee Retired Educators Association; Dr. Philip Schley,
Vice-Chair, Muscogee County Board of Education; and The Honorable Jim
Wetherington, Mayor of Columbus. Music was provided by the Kendrick String
Quartet, under the direction of Dr. William Fry. The event was
coordinated by Margaret Ingersoll, Belinda Ingle, and Perdita Dowdell of the
Division of Human Resources.
