Blackmon Road Wins Regional Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl
Blackmon Road Middle School took top honors at the Western Regional Division
of the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl held at Ola High School in McDonough
Saturday, March 3, 2007. The team defeated Gray Station Middle School from
Jones County and Howard Middle School from Bibb County. Blackmon Road will
represent the Western Division at the State Competition of the Helen Ruffin
Reading Bowl in April during the Children’s Literature Conference at The
University of Georgia.
Blackmon Road team members are Sesame Bowers, Gautam
Chebrolu, Melissa Cousins, Brittany Reese, Mdkenzee Ruley, Kelsey Tjen,
Kevin Tjen, Jennnifer Spickler, Jessica Wilson, Andrew Winterfiels, and Gary
Baxter, media specialist and HRRB coach.
