BOARD RECOGNIZES CONTRIBUTIONS OF MEEF

At the December Board meeting the Board recognized the contributions of
The
Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation (MEEF) to the community.
Vice Chairman James Walker presented a memento to MEEF representatives
Teddie Ussery and Jim Buntin.
MEEF is composed of outstanding business, education, and community leaders
who are committed to make a difference in education and in the lives of our
children. The Executive Committee Members are Teddie Ussery, Chair; Joel
Ames, Vice Chair; Lisa Ottley, Secretary; Pam Siddall, Treasurer; and Phil
Tomlinson, Endowment Chair.
In 1996, a group of devoted citizens who had a long-standing commitment to
education organized the Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation. Knowing
that much of the success of our community depends on the quality of our
local schools, the Foundation began to enhance the quality of our
educational system by focusing on the people who have the most direct impact
on our students: the teachers. The Muscogee Educational Excellence
Foundation has evolved into one of the leading advocates of excellence in
public education in our region. The Foundation’s Board of Directors works
diligently to foster innovative and effective teachers through the Teacher
of the Year program and the Teacher Mini-Grant program.
