Spotlight Award Presented to MCSD ITSs
In early November, the regional Educational Technology Training Center
(ETTC) at Columbus State University recognized Dr. Carol Vander Gheynst,
Executive Director for Technology Services, and MCSD’s Instructional
Specialists (ITSs) with the 2006 Spotlight Award for a decade of exemplary
support to P-12 educators. During the December Board meeting, Deputy
Superintendent Dr. Robin Pennock presented Dr. Vander Gheynst and six
representatives of the 16 ITSs to the Board.
The award notes that the director and the ITSs have made a consistent and
persistent effort to ensure that teachers have the needed technical and
instructional support as they learn to use technology to improve student
learning and achievement.
