Adrienne Brown of Lonnie Jackson Academy Named Outstanding First Year Teacher

Our Outstanding First Year Teacher for 2006-2007 is Adrienne Brown, a kindergarten teacher at Lonnie Jackson Academy.  She was introduced to the Board during the May meeting.

Nominees are classroom teachers in grade P-12 who have begun their teaching careers on or after July 1, 2006, and have performed outstandingly based on, but not limited to, the following: classroom performance, contributions to the school and/or school community, original or innovative ideas and approaches to teaching, initiative and motivation, a willingness to share, knowledge of content, communications skills, passion and enthusiasm, cooperation as a team member, improvement in student achievement, knowledge and use of technology, and rapport with students, staff, and parents.
