COLUMBUS HIGH STUDENTS WIN AWARDS
AT STATE JAPAN ACADEMIC CHALLENGE BOWL

Three Columbus High students won awards at the annual Japan Academic
Challenge Bowl held at the Georgia Institute of Technology on Saturday,
March 17. This year's state winners for Japanese level III are Jenniver Keifer
(Team captain), Yan Xu, and Meghan Dunn. They received the first place
trophies, a team certificate, and prizes from the Consulate General of Japan
and Japan American Society in Georgia.
This event is an academic Japanese language competition for high
school students in Georgia. Students were challenged on grammar, kanji,
idiomatic phrases, and cultural knowledge through listening, writing,
reading, and speaking skills.
