Columbus High Competitive Cheerleading Squad Receives Georgia Sportsmanship
Award
The Columbus High Competitive Cheerleading Squad was presented with the
Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association Sportsmanship Award for their
outstanding performance and sportsmanship shown during the 2006 State
Cheerleading Competition. They also placed third in the state at this
competition, which was held on November 11 at the Columbus Civic Center.
During the March Board meeting, Chief Student Affairs Officer Eddie Obleton
introduced the team, Coach Merrimore McDonald, and Principal Susan Bryant to
the Board.
Team members are Kaleigh Beauchamp, Courtney Braxton, Symantha Cook, Mary
Margaret Culpepper, Cassidy Drysdale, Missy Fontana, Sarah Hackaday, Alyssa
Henry, Claire King, Caitlyn Klobe, Cortney Laughlin, Lauren McDonald, Catie
McRae, Elise Parker, Katie Powell, Maggi Reese, and Kim Willis.
