C-Span School Bus Visits Shaw
On its 2006 National Tour, the C-Span School Bus made a stop at Shaw High
School. Throughout the day on November 14, Shaw students and teachers were
treated to a tour of this "studio on wheels." The bus, which has been
visited by both President George W. Bush and former President Bill Clinton,
spotlights the mission of C-Span--to broadcast public affairs. Fifteen
classes, primarily social studies, media studies, and journalism, toured the
bus, as did numerous faculty and staff members. The Shaw visit was sponsored
by Mediacom of Columbus, one of the school's two Partners in Education.
