The zone maintenance concept is an innovative way of
integrating the maintenance technicians into a designated zone consisting of
facilities and grounds that have to be maintained. This concept provides
immediate response to associated problems with facilities and ground
maintenance. By locating designated maintenance support teams in specific
zones, these teams will be able to respond quickly and deliver services more
efficiently with less non-productive travel time. Also, the zone maintenance
teams should develop a sense of ownership in the facilities which will
impact the general maintenance and upkeep of facilities and grounds.
