| SubFinder is a Windows-based
software application that automates our employees' absence reporting, substitute
placement, and data analysis processes. It is designed for both certified
and classified employees.
With SubFinder, employees
use a Touch-tone telephone to call the system and report their absences.
Once absences have been reported, SubFinder begins calling and arranging
the most appropriate substitutes. Sometimes the substitute initiates
the call, and sometimes Sub-Finder calls the substitute.
SubFinder is a proactive
staff management tool, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365
days a year. Employees have the ability to call in and report absences
several months in advance. SubFinder is designed to know if a substitute
is needed and when it is best to begin offering each job.
SubFinder uses Interactive
Voice Response (IVR) technology. It manages the complete process
by using voice prompting to guide the employee and substitute through each
step in an orderly manner. The program uses twelve telephone lines (four
incoming and eight outgoing) for its daily operations. These are
all rotary numbers beginning with the principal number..
