Chattahoochee Valley Libraries seeks fulltime Public Library Associate who is excited about library service, and is passionate about reaching out to the community. This individual will join an effective team known for creating a welcoming environment, delivering award winning service, fostering customer loyalty and attracting new users to the library. The successful candidate will be required to provide reference service - in person, by phone and electronically, assist with collection maintenance, teach computer and job search skills that move users to self-sufficiency and collaborate to identify service needs. This individual must invite and embrace positive change. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree or comparable experience, public service experience, exceptional computer skills, strong oral and written skills, and knowledge of current library technology and treands. 190 day position, paid on the GA State Salary Schedule T-1 or T-2 scale with local supplement, $33,592 - $48,190, depending on years of experience and certification. Requires certification in accordance with State Board rules. This includes certification as follows: 1) Georgia Quality Assurance Screening (G-QAS) Level III or higher in interpreting or transliterating; or 2) Current national certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID); or 3) Current national certification from the National Association of the Deaf (Levels II, IV, or V); or 4) Current Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) level 3.5 or higher (if issued since April, 2003).
