Michael Brown of Plant Services
Wins December ABCD Award
“Above and Beyond the Call of Duty”

Michael Brown, Plant Services, Building Maintenance Personnel, was
introduced by Chief Human Resources Officer Don Cooper to the Board during
the January meeting as the winner of the December ABCD Award. He has been
employed with MCSD for 24 years. He always responds promptly and courteously
to all of Hannan Academy's assistance requests. He makes sure the school’s
equipment is working properly and checks on substitute custodians to make
sure they perform their duties. He is not afraid to help out in any way. He
has even assisted in cleaning, buffing and waxing Hannan's floors.
He goes “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty” every day, not only
responding to problems that have been reported but also randomly stopping by
to check on the status of operations at the school. According to Dr. Ann
Robison, Hannan principal, it is very difficult to put into words all that
Mike Brown does on a daily basis--not just at Hannan but around the
district. However, she said a few additional words come to mind whenever his
name is mentioned:
Motivated employee
Initiative to get the jobs done
Kind and professional
Efficiently tackles problems
Busy
Responsible leader
Outstanding job performance
Willingness to assist others
Noteworthy work ethics
