Penny Watson, Assistant Nutrition Manager at Eastway Elementary School, has been recognized as the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award winner for the Nutrition Department.  At the September, 2004, Board meeting, she was introduced by Don Cooper, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.  She has been employed by MCSD since 2001, and according to her principal, Kay Dowis, she is one of these positive, cheerful people everyone loves to be around.  She goes above and beyond her duties, whether she is painting a mural on the cafeteria wall or serving cookies to parents at Open House.  She has assisted Eastway in welcoming two new business partners and preparing receptions for them.  She also prepared and presented a breakfast for Eastway's Drop Everything and Read initiative.
