“Above and Beyond the Call of Duty”

Eddie Griffin, Lead Mechanic, has been recognized as the October ABCD Award Winner for the Transportation Department of the Muscogee County School District. He is pictured with Don Cooper, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, at the October Board meeting.

His technical expertise as a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic has been demonstrated numerous times and proved mission essential during the summer of 2004 safety technical inspection on all buses. He performed more than 100 extensive overhaul repairs on buses which have resulted in a high rate of vehicle readiness since the start of the school year. His initiative and exceptional knowledge of vehicle maintenance and willingness to work long hours have led to him being promoted to the position of Lead Mechanic. Since that promotion, Mr. Griffin now supervises, trains, and motivates his subordinates to achieve quality work to keep the vehicles serviced and operational.
