The Naglieri Nonverbal
Ability Test® is a measure of reasoning and
problem solving. It is administered in the Muscogee County School
District to identify students for further evaluation for the Gifted
Program or Special Education.
The Naglieri Nonverbal
Ability Test® provides a group-administered measure of reasoning
and problem solving that is independent of educational curricula and
children's cultural or language background.
NNAT was standardized on more than 100,000
students and uses progressive matrices with shapes and designs that are
not unique to any cultural group.
NNAT results may be used to screen for general
ability and also to identify:
-
Gifted students for whom English is a second language
-
Students whose school performance may be poor because of limited
English proficiency
-
At-risk students whose low nonverbal reasoning ability may
indicate potential academic problems
-
Students who may have a learning disability and require further
diagnostic testing
