Second Annual Hispanic Youth Scholarship Conference

The second Annual Hispanic Youth Scholarship Conference at Columbus State University took place Saturday, February 24, 2007.  ESOL teachers assisted students in seeking college scholarships regardless of immigration status. Recruiters from various colleges around the state were on hand with valuable information. Workshops on how to apply, how to write effective essays, financial aid, U.S. immigration laws, etc. were conducted for high school students.  Parent workshops were also available. The event, a collaboration with the CSU Hispanic Recruitment Program, was attended by students and parents from several Georgia school districts.
