The month of March is the time for parents to register their children for Pre-K and kindergarten. Registration applications may be obtained and completed at all neighborhood elementary schools and the MCSD Central Registration at the Columbus Roberts Center, 539 Brown Avenue.

Placement in MCSD's Pre-K Program is not on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes are filled according to the child’s lottery number with priority given to any student living in the attendance zone.

The Pre–K program is open to students who are four years old on or before September 1, 2008, and the kindergarten program is open to students who are five years old on or before September 1, 2008.  Parents or legal guardians should bring to the registration their proof of address, verification of the child’s date of birth, and the child’s social security card.

It should be noted that it is very important for parents to register their children early, particularly for the Pre-K program, where space is very limited.
